History:

  • Picked cherries in 2005-2006 on properties in New South Wales and Victoria, Australia.
     
  • Worked on apple and plum orchard and major plant nursery in Central Victoria, Australia as an orchard/nursery hand.
     
  • Employed on major project to rig and erect hail netting over 19 acres of apple trees; involved digging out holes, lifting into place manually six-metre poles, rigging of steel cable and overlaying of netting.

    2. Pruning of apple trees taking into account varieties and trellising method
    3. Pruning of plum taking into account varieties and trellising methods
       
  • Orchard maintenance
    1. Trellis management
    2. Desuckering
       
  • Fruit picking
    1. Cherries – judgment on ripeness, size
    2. Apples and plums –judgment on colour (ripeness) and size
       
  • Tractor driving
    1. Slashing
    2. Towing trailers
    3. Fork lift operation
    4. Mobile tower operation
