History:

  • On-the-job training of journalism cadets at The Tablelander Newspaper, Far North Queensland, Australia.

  • Training of personnel as field representatives for the Media Unit of the major motor sport event, Targa Tasmania, Australia, including publication of manuals, training sessions and day-to-day guidance.

  • Training in Workplace Training and Conducting Assessment with TAFE Tasmania, Australia.

  • Development for my employer, CyclingSouth, of training courses for adult bicycle riders. Courses were at two levels – for complete novices, and riders seeking advanced skills. Functions included research, break down of tasks into components easily understood by participants, development of training resources; establishment of risk management protocols.

  • Note: The principles used in developing the cycle-training courses were no different to those used in developing courses in the workplace. The cycling courses were in fact quite complex, and risk management in particular was a vital factor in ensuring instruction was logical, easily understood, and achievable by participants in a safe environment.

  • Delivery of training courses for adult bicycle riders.

  • On-the-job instruction for other employees for farm tasks.
